For students of FDR, this account of his relationship with his distant cousin, Daisy Suckley, is very enlightening to FDR "with his hair down," as a real person. From letters discovered in Daisey's attic many decades after FDR's 1945 death, and from Daisey's diary entries, we see a relationship of closeness, unpretention, deep caring and total devotion. FDR had met Daisey in the early 192s when his mother invited Daisey to come and spend time with FDR while he was convalescing at his boyhood home, Springwood, after his hospitalization for polio. A life-long friendship ensued. A great read!
